Modeled over bikinis and tweed resort wear by Naomi Campbell, Carla Bruni, and Claudia Schiffer, they quickly became a staple of the decade. With ‘90s trends making a comeback, Lagerfeld made sure chain belts are no exception. In his SS19 ‘Chanel by the Sea’ show, nearly 25 years later, he re-introduced them. This time, Kaia Gerber and Cristina Herrmanstrutted down a sand-filled runway complete with lapping waves and on-duty lifeguards, as Lagerfeld again paired chain belts with Riviera looks.
